The simulation aims to be used by as many educators as possible. Here, the concept is explained. On this page you find all the needed resources free to download.
The whole learning module consists of the following elements:- Preparation of the facilitators and volunteers: The provided material teaches the fundaments of sustainable travel to all people involved, educators, parents, and volunteers alike.
– The simulation: In the simulation, students are divided into groups in which they discover the simulated accommodation. Going from station to station, they interact with different actors representing holiday guests, cooks, cleaning personnel, natives, and many more characters who they meet in the fantasy hotel world. During the process, they note down their decisions in their booklets. When choosing “mission real-world” which takes place during an actual journey, several cooperation partners such as tourist information centres and accommodations cooperate and will hand out a price once the booklet has been completed successfully. In both alternatives, the participants will have discovered their destination as a detective behaving sustainable friendly and discussing with others about it.
– Celebrate & Engage the community: Do not forget to celebrate the learning achievements. In order to multiply the positive effects of the project, it is a great idea to open this event to the public. If you have a small space, it is a good opportunity to exhibit pictures from the simulation, as well as posters including interactive exhibition stations.
